Innovation and Design Thinking

Learn to Innovate with

Design Thinking.

Design Thinking is an innovative approach to problem solving that emphasizes creativity and user-centricity. In this course, students will learn to use Design Thinking to generate creative solutions to real-world problems. Through a combination of lectures, activities, and hands-on exercises, students will learn the basics of Design Thinking, including the five stages of the process, the tools used to facilitate the process, and how to develop innovative solutions. By the end of the course, students will have the skills and knowledge to apply Design Thinking to their own creative endeavors.

Outcomes

of the program!

Participants can expect to have a deep understanding of design thinking principles and be able to apply them to generate innovative solutions. They will also be able to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and effectively communicate their ideas to a wide range of stakeholders. Furthermore, participants will develop a growth mindset, embracing uncertainty and embracing failure as opportunities for learning and growth. The outcomes of this course will empower individuals to approach problem-solving with confidence, creativity and empathy, making them valuable assets in any organization.

Innovation and Design Thinking SYLLABUS!

01

INTRODUCTION TO DESIGN THINKING

This topic provide students with a foundational understanding of design thinking, including its principles, benefits, and the process. Through lectures, discussions, group activities, case studies and guest speakers, students will learn how to apply empathy to solve real-world problems.

02

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT WITH PROBLEM MAPPING

Throughout this topic, students will learn best practices for community engagement, techniques for mapping problems and root causes, and methods for analyzing data. Topic focuses on the importance of involving communities in the problem-solving process.

03

FINDING SOLUTION THROUGH IDEATION

Students will learn how to apply ideation, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, to real-world problems and overcome barriers to finding solutions. The goal is for students to develop the skills and confidence to apply ideation as a tool for finding innovative solutions.

04

BUILD RAPID PROTOTYPES

Topic that focuses on the creation of low-fidelity prototypes to test and iterate on idea solutions. The topic covers the concept of various prototyping tools and its role in solution finding and product development, as well as techniques for rapid prototyping.

05

STAKEHOLDER VALIDATION PITCH

Students will learn how to create a compelling pitch of their idea to stakeholders through effective communication of solutions and demonstration. It is the best practice to incorporate stakeholder validation and their motivations into the solution.

Brail Tab

We are creating a ‘BrailleTab’ this tab converts english text to braille text code. So that they can read any kind of books and acquire knowledge. Unlike regular screen readers, a person with hearing and visual impairment will also be able to use it.

Smart Chessboard

Our chess board is an advanced version of the basic braile chess board. We have pushbuttons underneath every block and it is linked to an Arduino. When the visually impaired player keeps the pawn they will get to know the location and placement of the pawn by audio format

IDT

Projects

InUnity hosts a set of events and programs to help foster an environment of creativity and innovation.

Foot Operated Toilet Flush

Whenever a force is acting on the pedal the liver comes down and the flush works. Instead of using the hand we use the pedal inorder to avoid direct contact with flush.

Smart Cane

Our smart cane would help them walk with confidence and they need not carry their phones all the time because of the inbuilt vibrating system in the smart cane. Our smart cane has two ultrasonic sensors one at the bottom and one at the middle of the cane. The one at the bottom will sense obstacles on the ground. And the one in the middle will sense objects at a distance. There is a sensor at the handle which vibrates when there is any obstacle. There are two buzzer which alarms when there is any obstacle.

Text to Speech using Glove

The gloves convert the particular gestures to text and speech utilizing Arduino as heart of the system. The flex sensors connected to the gloves that convert the gesture into resistance that will regenerate to the text and sound through Arduino nano.

Design Thinking-To create meaningful innovations

Stay Connected!!

An online student innovation community is an excellent way to solve regional problems. It leverages the collective knowledge and experience of students from around the region to develop creative solutions to regional issues. The community is an open platform for students to share their ideas and provide feedback on each other’s ideas. It can be used to develop strategies, collect data, and share resources. It is a great way to bring together like-minded students from different backgrounds and locations and collaborate to develop solutions to regional problems.
